It depends. If you are good with action,rpg, and adventure games, then that's fine. You'd also need the controls down as well.

I recently started playing Skyward Sword & when I got the sword of the godess I didn't have my training sword. So I don't think you get to have multiple swords.
I think Links always meant to be late teens early twenties but Skyward sword is meant to be a prequel to others I think.
