Go where you stole the item. Make sure you are hidden, then access your inventory. if you are playing on xbox, press the x button. if you are playing on PC or PS3 look to the bottom left of your screen and find what button to press to drop it, if you want you can pick up the item and place it where it was. Make sure you are hidden though. :)
