Applying the term "professional" to wiffleball players, leagues, or tournaments merely claims that the participants are known to have the best skills.

Actual "professional" wiffleball does not exist. In some cases, players receive donations from sponsors to help cover the costs to enter leagues/tournaments. Several organizations offer considerable cash prizes to the top teams. As of 2010, there is no record of any system that offers contracts or salaries to the players who participate.
