Well, to defeat the rat king (matter of fact, I just beat him), I used different techniques for each rat. One technique I used for all is only send about 2 or 3 men to each rat so they can beat it. If you almost beat a rat though, I would just rapidly send soldiers to them.
Blue Rat
You want to beat the blue rat, and all the other rats before they start multiplying, because it can get a little confusing when this happens. If you do allow them to multiply, though, there is only 1 rat that will be the real one. It's the one with the smoke coming out of it. I don't really know what the blue rats' specialty is, but when there is smoke coming out of the blue rats' head, attack! It will start crying and run off. Repeat this again until the blue rat is defeated.
Yellow Rat
I would recommend using the same strategy, but this time, you should watch out for the rat poop, and to make it easier you should use Evade Formation. When the yellow rat is about to poop, stay close to the rat. It will keep you away from the poop and the rat cannot attack you while it's pooping, so you might as well send a few soldiers over to attack.
Red Rat
This guy is speedy. When it has smoke coming out of it, send as many soldiers over as you can before it runs off. If you manage to let it multiply, the real one is in the center.

Well, I just took them out one at a time, and soon I was facing the rat king.
Rat King
If you've managed to get this far, listen up! The rat king has the ability to eat your men. Once they're in, they can't help you anymore, so don't send too many men at once. Now, to tell which one is the real rat king, it's the one with the glowing eyes. Once you start attacking it, it will run off (usually). I don't know why, but every once and a while you won't do any damage to it. When this happens, call your men back and hope you won't get hit by the king rat.
I would recommend an army consisting of 18 hardened grunt soldiers, 2 farmers, 1 steel knight, and 9 animal hunters. If you find any problems post it on my message board.
