you realy don't it goes on and on really the first objective is to beat the elite four, than battle frontier, than catch all legendary Pokemon in the game, all this can take weeks to months depending on how much you play the game, it is a fun game which you face opponents and raise Pokemon, you cant win or lose. BUT IT SUCKS when your internal battery runs dry ( you can replace it with a cr2016 battery they sell them at walmart.) but if you have heartgold, soulsilver there are two regions to beat! double the fun if you ask me......
