If they were fully charged when you put them away, they should be fine. They will loose their charge over time but it should not hurt them.
bateries (no matter what kind) are best kept in the refridgerator after chargeing, don't leave them in the charger it can wear them out.
Batteries should probably be kept in a drawer or probably in a small box.
Cell phones with lithium polymer or lithium-ion batteries actually have better overall battery life if kept charged. Top it off every night. The old rules do not apply to the new batteries. In fact, discharging them completely will shorten the life. Keep it cool. Heat destroys rechargeable batteries, and lithium ion worst of all. (Non-rechargeable lithium, on the other hand, has high heat resistance. Go figure.) Expect your phone battery to lose about 20% of its capacity per year, regardless of how well you take care of it. It's the nature of the beast, even if unused. The same applies to computer batteries. If you are going to use the computer extensively while plugged in -- as, say, a desktop replacement -- consider removing the battery to protect it from unnecessary exposure to the high temperatures. For more information, see the link below.
They must be keep at room temperature, it's a bad idea to put the into a freezer.
Placing batteries in the freezer will likely damage them.
All rechargeable batteries such as cell phones, cordless phones, laptop computers, etc., need to be allowed to fully discharge and then recharge to full power to prevent them from acquiring a "memory". If they are always kept at full charge, then it will actually shorten the battery life, making the time between re-charging shorter.
Cooling lowers the rate of the chemical reaction in the batteries.
Solar batteries should be stored in a cool dry place. This also extends the life of the battery. Batteries can also be stored in plastic battery storage containers. Keep in mind the storage area should be kept at or above 40 degrees to avoid capacity loss.
As long as the battery is kept charged then it should last 3-5 years.
Cooling lowers the rate of the chemical reaction in the batteries.
Get a coin preferably a penny or cent depending where you live unscrew the bolt were the batteries are kept put the new ones in + side down rescrew the bolt push the button on the keyboard and it should work a treat I have an iMac myself.
They really don't recharge, you might get a little more life from them if they sit, also remove batteries from flashlights when not in use. Best bet is to replace batteries. Batteries that are kept in the cold have warm to room temperature before working.
