What Super Mario Galaxy about?

Super Mario galaxy 2 is much less plot-based than it's prequel, Super Mario galaxy. the basic storyline is that bowser has found a grand star and used it's power to become gigantic. after attacking Mario he flees to space where Mario is forced to chase him. when he is discovered by a group of lumas flying around on a planetoid-converted-spaceship, they help him to explore the universe to save peach.

Well the plot of the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 (which in the States is called Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels) is the same as in the first game. Your princess has been kidnapped by the evil King Koopa (who we now know as Bowser) and it's up to the fat Italian plumber Mario and his younger twin brother Luigi to save her. Now the plot for the U.S Super Mario Bros. 2 (which is called Super Mario USA in Japan) is a totally different story. While Mario is sleeping he dreams of a door he sees in a cave. When he opens the door he finds out it leads to a totally different dimension where he finds out the place has been taken over by the evil King Wart. When Mario awakes from his dream he goes to the cave to see if the door from his dream is there. When he sees the door he enters and begins his new journey to stop King Wart

P.S. The American Super Mario Bros. 2 is really a Japanese game called Doki Doki Panic only difference is the characters are changed and some koopa shells are added.

Super Mario Galaxy is the story of Mario's second journey into space (the first was in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins).

It is finally the Star Festival once again. The Toads are all out celebrating, trying to catch the Star Bits that are falling from up above. Meanwhile, Mario receives a note from the Princess, inviting him to the castle for some cake.

On his way, Bowser ruins the party, by capturing the Princess (again)!

Sheesh, when will this guy stop.

Anyway, Mario tags along to save Peach, but Kamek the Magikoopa blasts Mario to another planet. Mario is awaken by magical bunnies (I know, I know).

The bunnies want you to play hide and seek, and if you find all three of them, they'll tell you where you are. After you find them, they take you to Rosalina's Observatory. She explains that her ship runs on star fuel, but Bowser stole the Stars, and discovered the power to travel through space. She made a deal with Mario that if he found all 120 stars, she would take Mario to Peach.
