What does urban mean?

Urban means characteristics ascribed to cities like: concentration of population, a special type of dense built up environment, density in general, specific lifestyles dedicated to certain parts of cities' populations, a special cultural environment, a typical economy (services, trade, no agriculture...), maybe a lack of natural environment and so on.

Urban means built up ( like a town). The opposite is rural which is the unspoilt countryside. Or the spoilt countryside--either way it's rural.

The word URBAN means like a big or huge city or town. It is a word, the opposite or rural. Rural may refer to a comparatively less populated area where the distribution of population may be more "spread out". An urban area is a city, town. etc. where the population is more concentrated.

It also has more of busy streets.
