Subsistence, the updated rerelease of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, includes such extras as the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake games from the MSX2. There is also a new option that allows the user to control the camera in-game. There was an online portion as well dubbed Metal Gear Online, but the servers have since been shut down. Additional camouflage and face paint originally available via download and in other regions comes included with Subsistence. There is also a Snake vs. Monkey mini-game, European Extreme difficulty level, parody cutscenes, and connectivity with Metal Gear Ac!d 2. The limited edition version of Subsistence also adds a third disc with the cutscenes from the game made into a movie.
