Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii give you the option to download their respective channels.
Wii channels are.. THink of a computer. you have different games and programs. Its kind of like mini programs on the wii. Such as the Check Mii Out channel (mii contest channel). Everybody votes channel (voting channel). Nintendo channel with all new updates on Nintendo stuff. Weather channel (weather). Photo channel (edit photos on the wii).
If you download the Nintendo Channel (free), you have the option to be sent messages when new games come out for Wii or WiiWare
Yes using the wii shop channel which is on every wii console. It uses the internet connection, either LAN using a usb LAN thingy or wireless. The games on the wii shop channel are from previous Nintendo consoles, or are new ones in a category called wiiware, which are short but generally high quality games. All games on the Wii shop channel are bought using points, that can be bought using a gift card or credit card. 1 point is $0.01. Hope this helps
Sort of. If you have an internet connection set up on your Wii and Wii points (which are an online Wii currency used to buy Virtual Console games, WiiWare games and Channels. They are available from gaming shops and can be bought via Credit/Debit card from the Wii Shop Channel). If you have both, then you can access the Wii Shop Channel. You can buy Virtual Console games (games such as Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda and many more), WiiWare games (new, short games for the Wii, like World of Goo, My Pokemon Ranch, Bomberman Blast and more) and Channels (software for your Wii. Most are free, but the Internet Channel costs 500 points).
As of today, it is not possible. Not even for the DSi. Sure you can use DS Download play using a certain Wii channel to play trials of new games, but you cannot play Wii games on any current version of the DS. There are some titles that are in both the Wii's and DS' library, but that is completely irrevelant.
As of June 2014, there are no new Mario games coming out for Wii. Nintendo is focusing their new releases on the Wii U.

A Wii channel is like an Application on a phone or a Program on a computer. Each Wii channel does a different thing and they are each downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel that comes in the Wii. You must connect to the Internet before you can download any new Channels, but most of them are free of charge. The channels that come free of charge on the Wii are: Disk Channel (Plays a Wii or Gamecube game disk), Mii Channel (Allows you to create your own Wii virtual avatar and tons of other avatars called Miis.), Wii Shop Channel (Download Virtual Console games, WiiWare, use secret channel codes and download free channels[requires internet connection]), Wii Forecast channel (Get the free forecast for your area anytime![requires internet connection]) and the Wii News Channel (Read the latest news on your Wii [requires internet connection]). There are more channels to discover from the Wii Shop Channel via the Internet, but some of the Channels (such as the WiiSpeak channel) require you to buy the software and then enter a unique code to receive a channel that comes free with the software. Hope this helps!
Well, that means that you have access to the Nintendo Channel where you can download game demos and watch trailers for new games. Downloading the Nintendo Channel is free. You can use it to download game demos for the ds too.
Yes, you can. all it takes is the wii u transfer channel on the wii menu and an sd or sdhd card!
>>>The wii points on the wii shop channel are money, literaly one cent equals one wii point. You use those points to download games from either the Virtual Console or WiiWare meaning you can download classic games from the NES and other Nintendo consoles and all new games created specificaly for the wii without the need to buy a cartridge or CD. You can purchase Wii Points Cards which vary from 200,500, or 1,000 points varying in price to their respective number of points. You can also buy points directly in the Wii Shop Channel with a credit card, you are givien the option of choosing how many points exactly you want. <5-24-09>
No, the Wii U can't play GameCube games. It's only backwards compatible with Wii games.
