Depends on the map, here's my recommendations:
Afghan: Sniper or accurate long range Assault Rifle
Derail: FAL or a LMG
Estate: Sniper or Accurate Assault Rifle (ACR, M16, FAMAS, SCAR)
Favela: SMG (I say P90 or MP5K)
Highrise: 1-Shot Kill Sniper (Intervention or Barrett 50Cal.)
Invasion: High Damage Assault Rifle (SCAR, FAL, TAR-21)
Karachi: SMG or LMG (Depends on if you like to charge or hang back)
Quarry: LMG w/ thermal scope, or Assault Rifle w/ ACOG
Rundown: Sniper or M16
Rust: SMG w/ a backup Shotgun handy
Scrapyard: LMG (I like the RPD on this map.)
Skidrow: LMG with RPG & blast down the Hallway
Sub Base: Sniper or ACR
Terminal: Snipe down long hallway or use anything w/ a grenade launcher
Underpass: Something with a thermal scope i'd say the AUG HBAR would be best
Wasteland: Sniper for out side fighters, shotgun or launcher for people who charge for the cave
