Grand Prix mode is considered finished once you have won all cups in all classes, including mirror mode. Once GP mode is finished the title screen image will rotate via various characters, and if you have at least one star in every cup a number of stars will appear next to your name, depending if you've finished each cup and class with one, two or three stars.
