What happens when you prestige in black ops?

When you reach level 70 you get an option to prestige or not.

If you prestige then you will start as rank 1, and lose all your guns and camo.

Altough you can keep your embles and titles.

Also you get embles for prestiging and you get a new rank symbol.

You gain prestige challenges. You can view these by going into barracks then challenges and then go to the bottom of the challenge list. There are a number of challenges including getting a number kills from kill-streaks and getting melee kills. Also you get prestige challenges for each weapon (They are not in the barracks:challenges:prestige challenges). Eg. Getting a certain number of kills, head-shots or multi kills (multi kills are for the Javelin, At4 and RPG-7 only). Completing the challenges will earn you new titles and I think emblems. The Prestige challenges DO NOT reset after you prestige.

You go back to experience level one. (You get to keep your titles and emblems though.) And you unlock another custom class.

You shoot stuff for extended periods of time.

Answer 5

You lose all guns and perks you have unlocked and any codpoints you have earned, and start again at level 1. You keep emblems and callsign etc
