Halo is a game developed by Bungie. The main character is referred to as "Masterchief" (Spartan 117) (or in Halo 3: ODST you play as an ODST, an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) which is played by you. Basically you just try to stop the Covenant (alien species) from lighting the Halos, giant rings that, if activated, will destroy all the sentinel beings in the galaxy.

I will play HALO REACH. I heard that they got way more cubes to work with so they're going to make the maps to where your gonna want to explore them. They're gonna make a better looking assault rifle and other stuff. Inleast in campaighn that is. I don't know about multiplayer. Also alot more new vehicles, is another thing they're going to add to HALO REACH. They're are only doing this, because HALO REACH is going to be the last HALO that comes out.

The second bookis about the game play of halo 1

The third book has a couple details of halo 2 but is mostly a junction between halo 1 and 2.

Then there are other spin off books that are from different time periods of the wars from different characters points of view.
