Several (3 that I know of) have a POP sound assigned to those events. You can remove the sound allocated to the events.
PS. I changed the Windows closing sound on my computer at home to a "ding" - rather than the "cord" because the cord sound made a lot of noise late at night when I was turning off the computer. A dine let me know there was a successful close without making a lot of noise.
