What is the best Fallout 3 companion?

Fawkes seems to be the people's choice of favorite.

You can choose from 8 different characters, but you can only take 1 with you. If you get tired of your current character, simply fire him/her and choose a new one. Even if you fire a character, you will still be able to get him/her to join you later.

My opinion its Fawks hes a huge super mutant that has a Gatling laser and really never dies or very rarely. You get him on one of the last stages of the game so just keep playing the main story line to find him. I you have already beat the game then he can be found at the museum of history In the second room.

Ian, in Shady Sands. He wears a leather jacket and uses pistols.

Tycho, in Junktown. He wears leather armour and uses a shotgun.

Dogmeat, in Junktown. Wear a leather jacket, or feed him iguana, to recruit him. As

a dog, he just uses his teeth.

Katja, in the Boneyard. She wears combat armour (though her in-game Sprite shows a leather jacket) and uses a throwing knife.
