Most people will say the best weapon is a matter of opinion, but this is incorrect. In the end, when you look at all factors, the best weapon is Yuffie's ultimate weapon, the "Conformer." It is a long ranged weapon, so it allows you to do maximum damage while taking minimum damage. It also "conforms" to the enemies level. This makes it so that it always does the highest possible damage to all enemies.

It also makes it so that the Morph skill does maximum damage. This helps with three things: It allows you to save your limit break when you want, and still do your normal attack. It lets you farm rare items such as Megalixirs very easily. Last, but not least, it allows you to max out everyone's stats by farming Sources very easily.

Well if you are interested in swords i would recommend Durandal or Runeblade they are the best swords but not the best weapons in the game. If your a big sword fan i would recommend Excalibur which is very strong or if you want even better try get the legendary Tournesoul blade, Ultima Blade or the strongest sword ( i forgot wat it was called but you need to achieve all 3 badges). if you are a range weapon the weapons i would say is the awesome gun Fomalhaut, Sagitarrius bow or crossbows.

It could be the Blueblood swords for Luck; the Northern Regelia for Dexterity and Character Tendencies; the Insanity Cataclyst for Magic and Intellegence; the Morion blade for melee; the Dragon bone crusher for enchanted melee and Strength; White Bow for Dexterity. And then there are stat variations for rings, tendencies, off-hand weapons, ect.
