When they do that the army clones the patient to live their original life for them, to avoid problems with the parents. The children then go through painfull surgeries, giving them inhuman strength, speed, and endurance, and infusing their skeleton with titanium. Not many patients survive this process. The ones that do then train like normal marines for the rest of their life, although being far more advanced than marines.
