On the one hand, both tell a story with strong traces of fantasy or fiction in them, and both generally have a main hero/protagonist and villain/antagonist. However, where the two are different is that myths generally have some elements of truth in them. For example, Snow White takes place in a completely fictional world with dragons and dwarves, whereas the myth of Hercules takes place in real locations around Greece.
