My guess is that you built a statue, named "Anna", in which you have made several puzzles so that only you can get it. Your wife finds out about it because you become obsessed, and she tries to destroy it. In order to protect it, you kill your wife, which is what happens to house (knives, saws, etc.). You forget about the incident, and in either a dream or reality, you return to the house. The main purpose is to regain your memory and escape, but you can also go a step further and find "Anna". The voices that you hear during the game are you and your wife in the past.
