Use the 0 degrees setting. The performer plus cam is intended to be installed straight up, neither advanced or retarded. Never use adv. or ret. timing settings on these gears they don't work you loose power no matter what you do.
Timing gears
no, the 5.9l and the 6.7l cummins turbo diesel engines uses a series of timing gears not a chain or belt. reasoning for this is the power impulse and torque created would stretch the chains or belts over time. The gears last much longer. All truck hd truck engines use timing gears.
it has both chain and gears
It has a timing chain and gears. NO timing belt.
how to get the timing gears off the crank and cam shaft
No, it only has one timing chain but has two timing gears
It has a timing chain and gears.
All timing gears. You have to disassemble the entire front of the truck and engine to access.
It has a chain and gears. NO BELT. There would be no reason to fool with the timing chain and gears on that year engine. The chain and gears would out last the engine.
the timing marks are on the cam and crank gears in the timing case.
It does NOT have a timing belt, That engine has a timing chain and gears.
The timing gears basically first the cylinders in the right sequence and when the compression is at it most optimum
