It appeared to be a very nicely decorated medieval-style castle made of some type of stone with metal and wood as well. It is a large palace of many rooms for many purposes. A library and a large, opulent throne room can be seen in KH2 as well as a garden. Once you get into the hiden basement in which the "cornerstone of light" (?) is kept, you can easily see the place it was built upon and some of the surrounding town once you head through the door to the past. It is implied that there are many more rooms including the King and Queen's bedroom, a ballroom if the throne room isn't used for such purposes, Daisy's room, Donald's room, Goofy's room, etc.
