Where do you chase the robber on night watch island?

As you go through the game cycle, you will eventually find the robber (carrying a money bag?!) in Carnival Costumes. You hide at MacGuffin's to wait for him, and he drops some keys. Go next door to Good Deals and open the back room (use the robot to keep the lights on). This leads you to suspect the owner of PrintFax. Go there but he has stolen a security cart. You will need to get the spare scooter from the Manager's Office, and charge it with the Quick Charger from MacGuffin's.

Once you have the scooter, the cart should reappear in the Atrium. If it doesn't, go left into the left wing, then come back into the atrium. You need to go to the top of the left escalator, and when the cart drives by, it will crash into the fountain.

When you are in the vents there will be red bars between you and the thief. Use the blowtorch to cut through them and climb up the ladder. Then go to your right, and do the same thing. Once you end up near the machine where the elevator and escalators work, you will see him again. Once again you have to use the blowtorch on the bars. When you catch him in the air vent chamber, he knocks you away. Go back right to the vertical shaft, burn through the brown bars, and destroy the A/C control so that he has to move. Go back into the air chamber, across to the spinning fan on the left side, and burn through to Vent B. When he blocks your path, go left onto the dark maintenance ladder. When you catch him, you both fall out into the atrium fountain.

Eddie the snake saves the day, and the cops are waiting for the thief.

The crook appears when you are investigating a disturbance at Carnival Costumes, where the security camera went off (the second one of the night). The crook knocks you down and escapes. Gus suggests you go next door to MacGuffin's and wait for him.

When you surprise him, he drops a key labeled 'back door" but it is not the storage room at MacGuffin's. Go next door and you find a clue that the crook is actually the owner of PrintFax, who has applied to open a business in the closed-off empty store.

You encounter the crook when you go to PrintFax to investigate, and he is driving a security cart. Go back to the mall office and use Gus's password (frost) to get the scooter there. Get a charger from MacGuffin's to make it work, then chase the cart with the scooter down the atrium escalator. But the driver is a dummy. Go back to PrintFax to find a clue. There is an image on the copy machine of a Baseball card. Go back to Slugger's in The West Wing, where you find the safe is now missing. Get the blowtorch from the mall office and open the padlock on the empty storefront. The crook is inside, but flees up a ladder into the mall machinery spaces.

To catch him:

-- Follow him, but he shuts the red bars to block you. Equip the blowtorch again to cut through them, then follow him up the ladder and right through the "Ventilation B" ducts . When he traps you under the escalator, cut your way through again.

-- You catch him in the fan room, but he knocks you away. To bump him from his perch, go right, into the Vent B ducts (the same way you just came up) and cut through the brown bars into the machinery spaces. Use the blowtorch to disable the Vent "A/C" control.

-- Climb back up, over the escalator gears again, and down into the fan room. Now ride the updraft on the left side and cut the brown bars to enter the duct there. You will catch him before he blocks your path again with some containers.

-- Detour left through the brown bars to the adjacent darkened ladder marked Vent B. [You are supposed to also torch the Vent "A/C" control in the passage, but you don't have to. It was designed to keep you out of the shaft.] Climb up to him again. He flees, but falls and drops the card.

-- You grab it, and you both plunge through the vent cover into the atrium fountain. Before he can escape he is run into by Eddie the snake on the scooter.

You first run into the masked robber (complete with moneybag?) when you have fed Eddie the snake and go to check on a security outage at Carnival Costumes. You surprise him at MacGuffin's and get the key to the back room at Good Deals.

When you go to find him at PrintFax, he gets away and you have to get the scooter from the manager's office. When you complete the chase, continue to PrintFax for a clue in one of the copiers there.
