Where is a good place to level at 42 in wow?

Well that depends on your level if you've just made a person level in your home town and work your way away from the town so things are higher level but try to stay away from opposite races e.g. if you are from alliance stay away from hord exetara...

if your a horde go to Thousand Needles south of The Barrens. Can someone else help out for Alliance? I don't know them very well --- go to STV you wont struggle a lot there since is for 30- 45

Well it depends on what level you are the starting areas for your race are mostly the best for 1-5 then you go onto the secondary area usually level 5-13 then places like Westfall and Loch modan for alliance 13-?? or Silverpine forest and Crossroads for horde 13-??

To get to tanaris, go south of the barrens into thousand needles, then east.

Quests, but if you are not good at questing then just a high level monster if you're a hunter you can probly kill an NPC 10 levels higher than you if you have a good pet.

You can try Hillsbrad Foothills, Duskwood or Wetlands. You can also try Thousand Neddles but that may be too high. Hillsbrad is probably your best bet.
