In World 2-1, behind a bush (it's the area before the pyramid) is a place with a ? block, and it has a big 1-up sticker.
The Big Shiny 1-up sticker is in Rumble volcano. When you're in the area with all of the logs, go to the right side and hit the farthest log with your hammer. The big shiny 1-up will fall.
