In Fallout 3, the key to Hamilton's hideaway is found on the corpse of a man named Hamilton himself, located in the nearby Hamilton's Hideaway area. You can also access the hideaway by using a terminal to unlock the door if you don't have the key. Inside, you'll find various loot and items related to the game's story.
There is no more a master key in Fallout 3.
You are given 3 locations by Evan King as to where Ian is found he is at the Metro station. The moonbeam cinema is the location of 2 super mutants, and hamiltons hideaway contains random creatures..such as mole rats, rad scorpions, gauo guai and/or dogs.

You do not need a key to open the vault. All you need to do is go to the blinking box next to the door and it will say to press a button to activate it. When you press the button then you will hear a siren and it will open the door.

Fallout 3, Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition, Fallout 3: Broken Steel/Operation Anchorage/Mothership Zeta/The Pit/Point Lookout
Man Caves - 2007 Hockey Hideaway 3-9 was released on: USA: 1 August 2009
I personally recommend Fallout 3 to any other Fallout game. Fallout 3 has a more organized and in my opinion interesting storyline. And you. And you can also keep the game going after you beat the main quest on Fallout 3 if you buy the DLC "Broken Steel."
