Which one should you pick borderlands or fallout 3?

There are a lot of similarities. Similar settings, combat is very similar. Fallout 3 is closer to a true RPG in regard to quests with multiple pathways and solutions, dialogue, reputations and morality. Your character can be a doctor, or a diplomat.

Borderlands' system is more based around your character as a combatant, also rather than the weapons being 'fixed', they drop randomly, with random properties and get more powerful at higher levels, similar to a rogue-like such as Diablo.

depends what you like! Borderlands is a more combat enhanced game meaning more of the game is based around combat. Fallout 3 is more of a story enhanced game meaning that the game is based around following the storyline. Although both games have combat and storylines. Fallout 3 just has a very in depth storyline, infact it has many storylines. And Borderlands has very fun combat.

Pros of Borderlands- Combat System, Large Maps, Vehicles, Ranking Up System, Main Story, Add-ons, guns, custimazation.

Pros of Fallout 3-Storyline, Open world, interactive world, Tons of NPCs, V.A.T.S., Freedom, Side Quests, Add-ons

Cons of Borderlands- Side Quests, Not a completely open world,

Cons of Fallout 3- Combat can be a bit unrealistic, no vehicles,

Personally i would choose Fallout 3 over Borderlands any day. But Borderlands is a great game as well.
