Your race has no part in getting married, I don't think there is any wood elf partners to marry though, so you may have to settle for another race you want to marry.
Argonian, Breton, Dark Elf, High Elf, Imperial, Nord, Redguard, Wood Elf, Orc, khajit,
There are five types of elves in Skyrim: 1. High Elf (Altmer) 2. Dark Elf (Dunmer) 3. Wood Elf (Bosmer) 4. Snow Elf (Falmer) 5. Orcs (Orsimer). All five races descend from the Aldmer, the original elvish race, there are a few other subtypes such as the Chimer, and more importantly, the Dwemer, but they do not appear in person.
In Oblivion, the playable races are: Humans - Imperials, Bretons, Redguards, Nords, Elves - Dark Elf (Dunmer), Wood Elf (Bosmer), High Elf (Altmer), Orcs, Khajiit (cat people), Argonians (lizard men). Non playable races include Sheogorath(his own race), dremora, daedra, and a lot more. In Skyrim, you can play the same races as you could in Oblivion.
