One popular 1980's adventure TV show similar to Indiana Jones was "Tales of the Gold Monkey." It aired for only one season from 1982 to 1983 and followed the adventures of a pilot named Jake Cutter in the South Pacific during the 1930s. The show featured exotic locations, treasure hunting, and a sense of swashbuckling adventure reminiscent of the Indiana Jones franchise. Despite its short run, "Tales of the Gold Monkey" has developed a cult following among fans of adventure television.

You can play Curse of Monkey Island using ScummVM (www.scummvm.org). It also allows you to run many of other games based on the SCUMM engine (monkey island 1 & 2, maniac mansion, day of the tentacle, Indiana Jones, etc...) I've tested it on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Ubuntu and works like a charm.
