A bitmap is a raster image composed of a grid of pixels, where each pixel represents a specific color. Altering a bitmap directly can result in loss of image quality or detail, especially if the changes involve resizing or significant editing, as bitmaps do not scale well. Additionally, editing bitmaps can be complex because any modification affects individual pixels, making it challenging to maintain overall image integrity. For more flexible editing, vector graphics are often preferred, as they can be scaled and manipulated without loss of quality.
