lol the below answer is not true, and obviously made up. fact is this is a myth and has actually never been seen by any zoologist, although some speculate that if this does happen it's probably only happens in the dry season, since fire can spread quickly at that time, and the rhino reacts on instinct to put out small brush fires to keep what little food sources there are from burning up.

the reason they stomp out fire has to do with there sence of smell nerves, when they come across the sent of ashes/ fires it is like putting a rubber band around and bulls testicals it angers them so there for to stop they have to put out the fire.
