The reason the game is like this is because the game's story is based around if the U.S and Another Country nuclear bombed each other in the 50's and there is nuclear fallout everywhere. Since this occured in the 50's the games culture takes a lot from the 50's because like I said before the fallout happened during the 50's so alot of the 50's culture was left behind if that makes sense.
