No even the PS3 can not change like the PS4 with new features that allows it to charge the controller while the console is turned off
No they have a different plug in to charge therefor the ps3 controller won't connect to the ps4
Whenever you go to sleep plug in the PS4 controller until morning. The ps4 will trickle charge, meaning when it is fully charged it will stop until the battery life drops a bit, then it will charge again.
Did you ever plug the controller into a charger that was plugged into a wall? if so then you probably fried the battery since the charge put out of the ps4 is lower than that of a phone charger and the battery can't handle it. I've done it so this comes from experience. XD
Yes, you can carry a PS4 controller in your checked luggage.
Yes
At this point neither Valve nor Sony have released any details for the PS4 to support the Steam Machine controller.
It depends on whether you have a controller connected already. If you do go to settings and go to bluetooth connections- then on the controller not set up yet hold the ps button and the share button down for a few seconds so it blinks then on the ps4 find wireless controller on the list of bluetooth devices click on it and there you go.
The EXT port in the PS4's Dual shock 4 controller is used as a extension port.
Plug it into your PS3 with USB cable. The console needs to be on to charge the controller.
A charge controller is a regulator that you used to keep batteries from overcharging as well as undercharging. You need to keep batteries that are in storage charged so a charge controller will help to keep them at the right charge level.
No controller is made different and charging connection is in a different spot on ps4
