The 1991 700R4 transmission can interchange with a 1979 transmission, but several factors must be considered. The mounting points, length, and torque converter compatibility may differ, so modifications might be necessary for a proper fit. Additionally, the 1979 model may have specific wiring and control mechanisms that differ from the later model, which can affect installation. It's advisable to consult a professional or reference specific compatibility guides for a successful swap.

They both are the same.
700 R4, the better way to tell is when the down shift cable is no longer present the transmission shifting is computer controlled 4L60E which is a more complex (computer controlled) version of the 700 R4. I looked at a 92 today and it had a 700 R4.
Most likely if it is an automatic it is a 700 r4 in the 92 camaro. It will fit but the 700 r4 doesnt have the torque ratings of a 4L60 or 4L60e that came in the 94. Depending on the torque output on the z28, you might end up blowing up the 700 r4. So your best bet is to get a 4L60 or have the 700 r4 rebuilt and "bulletproofed".
it will have the 700-r4
700 r4
The 200-R4 tranny from an 84 Monte SS will interchange with any other 83-88 Monte SS, or any other GM G-body from the 80s with a 4-speed overdrive A/T. A 700-R4 can also be used but a new driveshaft will need to be fabricated due to its longer tail than a 200-R4.
No they are the same.
700-R4
Absolutely. Chevy bolted them to the 350 straight from the factory. The 700 R4 has the exact same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 350 and 400 turbo does.
