Does Charter Communications broadcast in 720P or 1080P?

No, only 1080i. 1080p is currently only found on local video sources such as games consoles and computer displays. Broadcasters are currently using only 1080i and 720p as their HD formats.

Why do most ps3 games only format to 720p?

Many games are only made in 720P. All TV shows are made in 720P or less even though they say broadcast in HD. The cost and the equipment required for the games to be designed in 1080P must be a factor. Also since TV shows are considered to be in HD at 720P and nothing is available in 1080P except Blu-ray discs it's still rather new feature for thee games manufacture to offer. However just like people claim that PS3 is too expensive even though it now costs the same as a Xbox360 Elite won't believe most major newly released games are only 720P.

Why are most ps3 games only 720p?

They're not - it's only the initial video presentation and video cuts that are 720p. The games themselves run at 1080p.Some HDTV's (like my own Aquos) will show you the resolution change between the game and the video clips as the game switches back and forth.

Why do xbox 360 games go up 1080p and ps3 games only go up to 720p?

The Xbox 360 games are actually 720p however they are up-scaled to 1080p on the Xbox thus they are not native 1080p games. The PS3 does run games at a native 1080p though in some cases that can be to much for the hardware of the PS3 and it can cause lag.

When you connect your ps3 to the monitor it 1080p but when i play games it shows 720p?

If my television signal is 720p, is there any advantage or disadvantage to purchasing a 1080p television?

No, the only advantage would be with video games or dvds/Blue Rays.

How do you play limbo in a window and not full screen?

The game Limbo can only be played in full screen mode currently. This is currently the recommended setting. The game settings will need to be adjusted for it to fit on a smaller screen than 720p.

What is the difference in 1080p and 720p technology in HD tv?

High definition television uses one of three common formats - 720p, 1080i and 1080p.720p indicates that there are 720 lines in the image. The "p" means "progressive" and a complete image is delivered 50 or 60 times each second.1080i shows that there are 1080 lines. The "i" stands for "interlaced" and the image is sent in two halves so a half image is sent 50 or 60 times each second but the full frame is sent only 25 or 30 times each second.1080p is also made up with 1080 lines but the "p" shows that a full image is delivered 50 or 60 times each second.Broadcasters use 720p or 1080i. These are both full HD signals. Although the 720 line image has a lower resolution, it is updated twice as fast. The data rate for 720p and 1080i is the same. Although 720p is less common than 1080i, it is used by broadcasters for some fast action content such as sports.1080p updates the image at twice the rate of 1080 and therefore uses double the bandwidth. Broadcasters do not send out 1080p and it is restricted to local sources such as Bluray, games consoles etc.

Why won't your PS3 display full 1080p?

you need a HDMI cable and 1080P media like a Blue ray disc and a HDTV with 10080P capabilities before you will receive full 1080P. For example most HD TV programing is only 720P and will not be in full 1080P on a 1080P HDTV and a TV show in 480i standard will be in 480i on a 1080P HDTV

How do you get 1080p output on PS3 using a HDMI cable with a game that only supports 720p?

The PS3 will upscale to 1080P if the system is set to upscale. You will not get 1080p you will get 720P upscaled to 1080P. I find that DVDs movies are better on the upscaled format, but they are not of the quality of Blu Ray.
