Are g-shock watches waterproof

Yes, it is, for normal, everyday use. The one on my wrist is labeled "200m water resist" which means it's capable of resisting water up to 600+ feet. At those depths I'd be hesistant to wear it, but I'd consider it waterproof to depths of at least 100 feet or so.
