You are not doing a complete job when you service your pool or check the chemicals. You need a tile scrub brush assy. or the equivalent. You need to be cleaning the tile line at least weekly to prevent the scum and calcium buildup. You probably will not be able to remove the scale buildup at this point unless you concentrate on about a two foot area of tile daily until you've completed the entire tile line. k

How many rectangular tiles measuring 9cm by 5cm do you need to cover a narrow section of floor space which is 18m by 1.5m?

It depends upon how big a grout line you want between tiles. If there were NO grout line (i.e., tiles are pressed against each other), it would be easy to multiply 18m by 1.5m and by 5cm by 9cm, and divide those results to find the total of 6,000 tiles (27 square meters filled with tiles each of 45 square cm). If you line up 9cm tiles end-to-end, you will need 200 of them for 18m. If you line up 5cm tiles side-by-side, you will need 30 columns of them to get 1.5m.

If my house is 78'x26' how many 16x16 floor tiles would i used to purchase to cover the floor?

78 feet = 78 x 12 inches = 936 inches. To line one side of this with 16" tiles will take 58 and a half tiles. 26 feet = 26 x 12 inches = 312 inches. To line one side of this with 16" tiles will take 19 and a half tiles. So, you will need to buy 59 x 20 tiles (to ensure that patterns match) = 1,180. If the tiles are plain then you can use one tile to give two half-tiles and will only need 1,141 tiles.
