I would place a wire mesh screen over the drain and slowly let the water out and then bend over and pick it up.
If it's in the drain pipe, then it might be too late. If it's metallic, you might try using a flexible rod or wire snake with a magnet attached to retreive it.
If it's a BM, you're on your own.
