Is the feeder connected to the power? Is the unit turned on? Is the unit turned up to the desired level of feed? Have you added conditioner/stabilizer to the pool in the proper quantities? Have you added the correct amount of salt to the pool? Have you added at lease a gallon of 12.5 % chlorine to the pool? Have you read the directions on the manual or on the unit itself? Are you running the pump? Are you running the pump and filter the required amount of hours to make the unit function and filter out the contaminants? I have 20 more questions depending upon your answers to the above. k Hi K, Yes, the feeder is powered up and turned on. The setting is on 4 out of 5. The CYA level is at an ok range of 40. All of the other chemical tests also come out alright (pH, hardness, alkalinity, phosphates, etc). I have shocked it at least three times in the last three weeks. The pump and filter are running constantly. I have looked at the manual for the unit and they don't give me any hints about what is wrong. The water is crystal clear, just no chlorine. Thanks, what could be the problem?? K: Your CYA is too low - needs to be 80 to 90 ppm. If this is a plaster pool or of similar product? You have to add more chlorine (should be added all at once) at least a gal. unless this is quite a large pool. I also need to know what those chemical readings are specifically - forget the phosphates.
I also need to know how the start up procedure went. Did the builder/contractor do the start up? Or did you do the start-up? What is the salt reading currently? Was your filter cleaned after "start-up"? Was there a lot of plaster dust? Is pool white plaster of Black? Also, how many gal. of water in pool? And how many pounds of CYA added? k ps= you can go to My Message Board for further communication.

If its an automatic transmission it may be time to have the fluid and filter change, when it gets old and dirt it can make the transmission behave bad. Also look at the engine air filter when they are dirty or clogged it can make the tranny behave oddly.
