A Tipu tree (Tipuana tipu) can provide excellent shade around a pool due to its broad canopy and fast growth. However, it can also shed leaves, flowers, and seed pods, which may require regular maintenance to keep the pool area clean. Additionally, its roots can be invasive, potentially causing damage to pool infrastructure if planted too close. Overall, while it can enhance the aesthetic appeal, careful consideration of placement and upkeep is essential.
Does it shed a lot of leaves? or have some sort of stuff that comes off it? If it does, no because it will get into the pool and filter.
Tipu Sultan?
It is not a good idea to plant any deciuous tree near a pool as the leaves foul the water when they drop.
the roots can create issues in future when the tree mature, to avoid that keep 3 ft distance away from theconcreteslaps and when you plant them be sure the roots are at least 24 inches below the concretesurfacefor zero damage, I have them around my pool for the last 12 years no issues.
no
It depends how near to the pool it is.
palm tree roots grow mostly downward so they are not likely to damage your pool
Tipuana tipu, palo verde desert museum . Golden rain tree, prob more
We moved in two years ago and have a soft/silver maple that had not been doing well. The top is very bear and very few new growth. The bark at the trunk is falling off. I had a professional tree service come and look at the tree. He told me that the tree had anthracnose / blight which is a fungus that took over the tree. The tree cannot be saved, it has to be taken down. Also, the root system has reached our pool and if not removed now, then we could have a potential problem. It has already heaved the concrete around the pool. My suggestion would be to have a specialist look at it. Good Luck......
you dont want tree debris in your pool, but i guess the biggest concern is tree roots cracking the pool...Keep in mind that roots will reach out and extend beyond the crown , so i would guess atleast twenty feet...
yes never put or plant any kind of tree near an in ground swimming pool. tree roots have been known to break through cement even metal so if you put/plant a tree near an in ground pool those roots will most likely break through the walls of the pool ruining it and your yard from that water escaping into the soil and flooding it. so i highley suggest not to pun any kind of tree with in 5 feet of your in ground pool.
Assuming you are wanting to build an "in ground" pool ... not likely. The roots of the Oak tree spread out in all directions as far out as the branch tips of the tree itself - this is how it is remains upright - roots = anchors for the tree. Not to mention all the leaves that will constantly be falling into the pool - especially in the fall when the oak may loose its leaves for the winter.
