YES THERE IS A LOT OF TRASH THAT CAN GET IN THE VALVE TO MAKE IT LEAK. YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO CLEAN IT

I found that with the pump running, the pool water was rising as apparently the pump was pulling water out of the ground. This was with the pool water low and the skimmer plugged off in order to try to filter after a bad storm. When I shut off the pump, the pool water went down as the valve did not seat properly.

Where is the hydrostatic drain valve?

The Hydrostatic valve is usually on the lowest part of the pools floor. The hydrostatic valve is there to protect the pool from being lifted by ground water in the event that it is empty. it allows the ground water under the pool to get into the pool thereby stopping it from floating out of the ground on top of the ground water.

How does a hydrostatic valve work?

A Hydrostatic valve is basically a plug that stop water coming down out of the pool, but when the water pressure under the pool gets higher then the pressure in the pool it will let water into the pool from underneath in order to stop the pool from floating in ground water.

Pool was without water pushed up on one end.best possible remedy?

you will have to dig it out and put it back in the ground check for broken pipes and is at all possible install a hydrostatic valve so it wont happen again

Should the hydrostatic valve be left open when it is raining?

A "relief valve" can only be accessed when the pool is empty, and no swimming pool should ever be left empty. The only exception is when absolutely necessary due to repair or resurfacing, and that should be completed within the shortest possible time. Any pool that is empty, and that has a relief valve, should have the valve removed for the entire time, regardless of the weather forecast. A "hydrostatic" relief valve opens and closes when needed as it attempts to equalize the pool water pressure with the ground water pressure. Human intervention is not involved because the pool is still filled. Hydrostatic valves are great in theory, but seldom work after a few years.

Does the pool main drain-hydrostatic valve need to be connected to the skimmer box?

the hydrostatic valve is only to equalize pressure of ground water to that of the pool the only time it does anything is when the water table becomes higher in the ground water than in the swimming pool . it doesn't connect to anything. it is simply to keep the pool shell from floating out of the ground

Why does my toilet keep running?

Your toilet may keep running due to a faulty flapper valve, a problem with the fill valve, or a leak in the tank. These issues can cause water to continuously flow into the bowl, leading to the running water sound.

Why is my toilet still running even after the water has been turned off?

If your toilet is still running after the water has been turned off, it could be due to a faulty flapper valve or a problem with the fill valve. These parts may need to be replaced to stop the running water.

What is the function of foot valve in the pump?

A foot valve, in relation to a water well, is a check valve at he bottom of a well to keep the water from running back into the well from the pump when the pump is not running. If the check valve does not hold the water the pump will lose it's prime and will not pump water.

How much water should you leave in a swimming pool after you drain it?

If you don't have a hydrostatic valve on the bottom I would suggest at least a third. otherwise it may start floating in ground water if it is present.

Why does the water in my toilet keep running?

The water in your toilet may keep running due to a faulty flapper valve, a problem with the fill valve, or a leak in the tank. These issues can prevent the tank from filling properly and cause the water to continuously run.

In a pool what is the white circle thing in the deep end?

This is the hydrostatic valve. If the pool is emptied it is removed to relieve water pressure caused by the surrounding water table If not removed a pool can float out of the ground.

How can I prevent water from continuously running in my toilet?

To prevent water from continuously running in your toilet, you can check and adjust the flapper valve, replace the flapper if it is worn out, adjust the water level in the tank, and check for any leaks in the fill valve or overflow tube.
