A fresh piercing needs to be taken care of with soap & water, alcohol, peroxide or anything that will prevent infection, including a dab of AAA antibiotic ointment. A chlorinated pool is also a good killer of bacteria. That's why they use chlorine in pools, to prevent the spread of bacteria. I would not hesitate to swim in a pool with a fresh piercing. HOWEVER, when you get out of the pool, dab a little alcohol (isopropyl) on your ear to dry (evaporate) the water to discourage the growth of bacterial. If you follow this plan, your piercing will probably heal faster than normal!! <<>>
I just got an ear piercing yesterday and the man who did it specifically said to not clean it with anything but seasalt water or "h2ocean". Especially not....all the things listed in the first sentence. And nothing heals a piercing faster than normal, unless you have a super amazing immune system. (Unfortunately) he also said no chlorine for a while. Sorry.

I had my tragus pierced, and i can honestly say it didnt hurt. It surprised me how well i took it, because i normally wimp out! I dont have many piercings, ive got my belly button pierced, which also doesnt hurt! and just normal lobe piercings.
