A vinyl liner floats because of excessive ground water. This usually happens because of extreme weather conditions such as rain or snow. A broken pipe, proximity to bodies of water i.e. creeks, ponds, and lakes are also causes of floating liners.


Also if the pH value of the pool is to low (to acidic) because the acidic water will eat away the stuff in between the tiles of the pool.
