sometime they dont be cleaning the pools out but they need to start i mean like that is nasty if its already clean then put a cover over it
Usually the pressure gauge on your pool equipment indicates how much pressure there is before the filter. as the pressure goes up it indicates that the filter is getting blocked and needs a backwash or cleaning. while the pressure is low the filter does not need cleaning.
Sand filters usually have a pressure gauge in front of them indicating the back pressure before the filter. When the filter needs to be cleaned this pressure gets high. usually it has a red section on the gauge. When it hits the red it is time to think about back washing. If the gauge does not work as so often happens with these things. you can usually judge it from the lack of suction coming from the filter. After backwash you will note the pressure will be down and the suction will be up.
Depending on the type of filter it needs to be cleaned or backwashed. Cartridge filter: Hose off. If pressure does not go down buy new cartridges Sand filter: Backwash, if pressure does not go down replace sand DE filter: Backwash, if pressure does not go down remove element from tank and hose off and or acid wash. Also... always make sure you gauge is working
Most pools are different however as a rule of thumb when the gauge goes into the red or about two thirds of the way up it is time to give it a backwash. weak suction is alway a good indicator as well.
You can not measure the pressure in a swimming pool. If you mean the pressure on the filter tank gage then you may have to backwash the filter. Talk to your local pool store for instructions as how to maintain a swimming pool and the equipment. Get some education on swimming pool maint. before you get into some real trouble. A pool is not too forgiving for someone without a basic knowledge of pools.
Depending on the size of the pool and the size of the filter and the amount of times you have to backwash, also if you have had a lot of rain then you may need to backwash more than usual. If you put the pool in and the filter and you know how old the sand is, if you are backwashing more than usual, change the sand. Also before you backwash check the pressure of the water going back into the pool, then backwash check the pressure again the pressure should for any size hayward pump push your hand away if it does not then change your sand.
how do i calculate the volumn of backwash in a pool
when the pressure is high on filter mode it usually means that a backwash is required.
Your D.E. filter should have a pressure gauge on it. When the pressure reaches about 20 psi this is an indication your water flow is slowing down due to trapped debris in your D.E so a backwash is necesssary to flush it out.
Backwash first then shock. If you shock and then backwash you will be throwing away the shock you just put.
You can set up a siphon hose if your pool is on a hill, otherwise, buy a pump. Hatawa
No you only backwash your pool when your filter pressure on your filter is high 30psi and above on most pools. If you backwash your pool be sure to add two scoops of de to your skimmer. If the presure is still high the u need to clean the filter
