Vacuuming just moves the visible algae to the filter. It does not kill it. You need to shock the pool and treat with algaecide. Brush pool thoroughly and vacuum up dead algae. Then clean your filters. It may take more than one treatment to kill all the algae. Also have your pool tested for phosphates. Phosphates are basically food for algae. If algae has a good food source, it can survive in even high amounts of chlorine.
Therefore, you may also need to treat for phosphates.
It would be best to take a water sample to a retail pool store such as Leslie's. They will give you printout of what your pool needs, amounts or chemicals, and order to apply them.

A gasoline engine makes it's own vacuum. The diesel engine has a vacuum pump next to the power steering pump.A gasoline engine makes it's own vacuum. The diesel engine has a vacuum pump next to the power steering pump.

If it is genuine 'black algae' it is very difficult to remove without emptying the pool and gouging the black algae out of the pool surface. Other algae can be removed by shocking the pool, filtering continuously and brushing walls while maintaining a good sanitizer level.
Follow the main vacuum coming from the intake manifold and it will right next to the vacuum check valve......
First you have to locate the source of the vacuum leak, then determine the next step how to repair it.
buy and add Pool Brite Super Floc (read the directions on the back and do what it says) and after a few hours all the stuff that's not supposed to be in the pool will rise to the top. let it clump up together and start by taking a bucket and scooping it out. one important thing though.DO NOT RUN THE FILTER AT ALL FOR A DAY OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT CLUMP TOGETHER. the next day sweep the pool and instead of backwashing and rinsing, put it to waste. hope this helps!
I live next to a large pond and the best way I found is to use copper sulfate. What this does is remove the oxogen in the water. Vacuum heavily during the next few weeks and after your done turn the filters on. if you keep the dead algae stirred up the filters should do the rest. Hope this helps!
