Your eyes burn in any pool for the same reason, pH levels out of range, or the cloramines are to high. Check the pH 1st, should be 7.4 to 7.6, low-add soda ash, high add muriatic acid. Cloramines, total chlorine minus free chlorine, should not be above .5 ppm, if so shock pool.
Try to use less or no chloride.

Alt water in a pool should have no effect on your eyes because it has the same saltines as your own tears. However sea water is a lot more salty and will tend to sting a Little some times. Eyes in swimming pools can also become sensitive to chlorine or other chemicals.
