they normally have a plug at the tail end purely for drainage, it can be very hard to get all the water out of a kayak, its much easier to just stand it on its end and take the plug out. but always remember to put it in before you start paddling or the first thing youll notice is a wet behind. and if its a long boat you have to rely on a helpful friend to put it in, or have to get out all over again
