It is because the salt dissolved in the seawater makes it thicker or denser than the water in swimming pool. As a result, you will not sink so easily. In fact if you go to the Dead Sea in the Jordan valley you will be not able to sink at all. This is because of the extremely high concentration of dissolved mineral salts in the water, which will keep your body bobbing like a cork

The ocean water contains lots of salt - there is a greater buoyancy factor in salt water as opposed to filtered water without salt.

Because the denisty of the salty water is higher than that of fresh water, which means that salty water lifts you more than fresh, which make swimming easier.

A swimming pool is more safer than the sea as there are no waves and so there is very less fear of drowning. In a sea there are violent waves that pull us towards the sea when they recede or come back from shore to sea. Also unlike pools there are soft sand bed which move from our feet anytime and we can drown.

And plus you can get a trainer to supervise you and give you tips reguarly with breaks to stop.

It is easier to float in the ocean because of the high salt content in the water. It causes more buoyancy. The water in your pool is fresh water.

the sodium oxide (salt) content is higher in the sea allowing you to float in it, while pools have only minimal amounts of salty chlorine, so you will find it harder to float

What is a fresh water swimming pool?

A fresh water swimming pool is a swimming pool that does not use a saltwater chlorinator. A pool that used a salt water chlorinator has salt added to it to so that a salt water chlorinator can electronically convert part of the salt into chlorine. A fresh water pool has chlorine added to it directly either manually or Automatically.

How do you lower salt content in a swimming pool?

Are children safer in a salt water swimming pool?

To stretch a point, they are slightly safer, yes- salt water has more buoyancy than fresh water, making "staying afloat" somewhat easier. That does NOT mean children can be unsupervised in a salt water pool.

Why is it easier to float in the sea than the pool?

It is easier to float because the sea water is denser than water found in a swimming pool. This is caused by the salt in the oceans.

Are you more buoyant in saltwater or freshwater?

This is because salt water is more http://wiki.answers.com/q9161824.htmlthan fresh water due to the presence of the salt. This is why it's easier to float in the ocean than a swimming pool.

Why it is so easy to swim in sea water than swimming pool?

Sea water contains lots of dissolved salts. Thus the density of the salty sea water is more than that of water in swimming pools, and the salty water lifts you more than fresh water, which make swimming easier.
