My guess is that the NM stands for National Match, a better quality barrel
It would have been made between September 1942 and Feb 1943. October 1942 as a rough guess.
go to this link: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_8_52/ai_n16498973 very good info and may give you a better understanding of value. I do know that the 1894's are more valuable then the later years.
My best guess is sometime between 1962 (When Sears signed a contract with Ted Williams) and 1978 (Sears discontinued the Ted Williams markings that year), The rifle is a Winchester Model 70- excellent rifle, by the way. The 273 number is the model number. If there is no serial number on the frame, it was pre-1968 (serial numbers were not required by US law on rifles and shotguns until 1968)
value depends on condition. good is not excellent nor is excellent MINT. it's very hard for a layman to really report the condition of a gun. at this point I would guess (if excellent) between $1,000 & $2,000. go to: simpsonltd.com (a luger site) I'm sure he would need detail pics of your luger to make a 'guess' at possible worth......

Quite a bit I would venture to guess! my friend has an authentic 1864 springfield, however I've heard a price on a replica.(400.ish) So I would guess 700to maybe 1,900.$

Your guess is as good as ours. Serial numbers are not unique to one firearm alone.
i guess he had an excellent adult life
Not enough information to even begin to hazard a guess.
I guess seven serial and 3 days
