I've read reviews on them ranging from "Not worth a d**n, to "Better than the originals, and more accurate". The only way you're going to know is to borrow or buy one for yourself, and see what you think.
The one area most reproduction Garand rifles are found lacking (and this exists with the M1A, which is meant to replicate a semi-auto only variant of the M14) is that they use cast receivers, rather than mil-spec forged receivers. Aside from that, the production models from Springfield Armory tend to get decent reviews, while the quality of guns made from parts kits (such as the ones offered from Century Arms International) tend to be of dubious quality.
The value of a M1 Garand made in St. Albans, Vermont, can vary significantly based on its condition, rarity, and any historical significance. Generally, these rifles can range from around $1,000 to $3,000 or more, especially if they are in excellent condition or have unique features. Collectors often pay a premium for rifles with original parts and good provenance. For a precise valuation, it's best to consult a firearms appraiser or recent sales data.
An M1 Garand. Most civilian sporter rifles have smaller magazines. Most larger capacity rifles are in smaller calibers. Drop to .308, and the Springfield M1A has a 20 round magazine, range is almost same as 30-06.
Yes they are very good rifles,I own 3 of them.
If you are a US citizen, you may purchase an M1 Garand from the Civilian Marksmanship Program- and MAYBE stay within that budget. Do a computer search for the CMP. The Garand is reliable, and capable of long range accuracy. There are many other military rifles that are less expensive, but they lack the accuracy of a Garand (rifles like the SKS) OR they are not semi-auto (Russian Moisin-Nagants, Mauser 98s, British SMLEs, Swiss K-31s, etc) You should have started looking a few years back- prices have gone up last few years.
A Winchester reproduction in 30 -40 Drag, 30 -06, or 405 Winchester was $1,179.00 during their reproduction run. Browning also offered a reproduction a similar price for grade I. Both rifles were made by Miroku of Japan. On GunBroker.com original rifles run the gamit from $700 to $1200 or more depending how badly someone wants that rifle. Personally, I think prices paid for originally rifles are way overinflated and would not pay more than $800 for an original in very good to excellent shape. You can pay a high price but you will never get your money back so why pay a steep price for a rifle that is one step from being a fence post? Collectors want rifles in good shape and shooters want rifles they can shoot! Too many people think because they have an old Winchester they can charge the moon. Don't fall for it. So overall, a used reproduction or an original shooter shooter should only bring $700 to $800. Pay more if you want but you are not well served if you do.
Pretty good
Yes
The assault rifle with the most damage per second is the TAR 21 but there are good weapons a good secondary is the magnum, the FAL is good if you are good at fast taping, if you are looking for mid range and damage things i recommend the assault rifles but there are good sub machine guns, MP5 and UMP45 good assault rifles are also the F2000 and ACR if you have them unlocked try expierementing.
For the price, they are OK
